Alan Foy is Chairman and Managing Partner of Venturewave Capital and chairs its Investment Committee. The firm invests in growing technology businesses across health, education, food and agriculture, climate and sustainable finance, with a focus on financial returns and measurable impact.
His experience combines company leadership and investment. As CEO of Blueface, he led the communications technology company’s international growth. He also held leadership roles at StarBlue and Star2Star Communications. Blueface was acquired by Comcast in 2020, and Star2Star by Sangoma in 2021. Earlier in his career, Alan worked at NCB Group in corporate finance, investment banking, private equity and wealth management.
Alan is also Chairman and Co-Founder of Venturewave Group, which includes Venturewave Capital, Venturebeam, Venturewave Partners and Rochtaine.
A past pupil of Mount Temple Comprehensive School in Dublin, Alan serves on its Board of Management. He is also a board member of Endeavor Ireland and a former Chairman of The Ireland Funds in Ireland.
Alan holds a first-class honours BBS, an MA and an MLitt in Strategic Management from Trinity College Dublin, where he received a Gold Medal and the Business Student of the Year Award.
