Alan Foy is Chairman of Venturewave Group, the holding company overseeing subsidiaries including Venturewave Capital, Venturebeam Venturewave Partners and Rochtaine.  He also serves as Chairman and Managing Partner of Venturewave Capital, chairing its Investment Committee. Alan is responsible for corporate governance and strategic direction across the Venturewave Group, actively contributing his extensive expertise as an investor, entrepreneur, and executive.

Previously, Alan was Chairman and CEO of Blueface, a global enterprise communications company acquired by Comcast Business in 2020, following significant growth across Europe, North America, and Asia. He also served as CEO and Non-Executive Director of StarBlue and Star2Star Communications, leading the merger of Star2Star and Blueface into StarBlue in a $500M deal and orchestrating the subsequent sale of Star2Star to Sangoma plc in 2021.

Alan’s earlier career includes executive roles at NCB Group (now Investec), focusing on corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, and wealth management. He led the management buyout of Blueface with the support of Lord Iveagh from the Guinness family, successfully transforming the company from an early-stage startup into an international market leader. Alan has also chaired Vestiver Limited, developing an investment platform sold in 2023, and currently chairs Funderbeam Limited, guiding strategic growth across regulated financial services subsidiaries in the UK, Estonia, and Singapore.

Active in board governance, Alan holds director or observer positions in portfolio companies including DropChef, and previously Xocean and WebDoctor. He is a founding board member of Endeavor Ireland, supports Trinity College Dublin as a Provost’s Advisory Council member, and participates actively in YPO Dublin. Alan previously chaired The Ireland Funds, contributing to peace, culture, and education across Ireland.

Alan earned a first-class B.B.S., M.A., and M.Litt. in Strategic Management from Trinity College Dublin, receiving the Trinity Gold Medal and the Business Student of the Year Award. He further enhanced his expertise through executive education in digital platforms at Harvard Business School.
