Lesley O’Connor is founder and Executive Chair of Trifecta Energy CLG, a bold new non-profit established in 2025 to reshape how the world thinks about the energy transformation, and to realise its abundant social, environmental and economic opportunities for our communities. Rooted in systems thinking, Trifecta Energy pioneers a unified approach to delivering clean, secure, and affordable energy.
Lesley is a director of Volnay, investment vehicle for the estate of the late Eddie O’Connor, the global renewable energy entrepreneur and Lesley’s father. Lesley has been a non-executive director of one of the companies he founded, Mainstream Renewable Power (now Aker Mainstream Renewables) since 2015. Between 2011 and 2023 Lesley held renewable energy development, commercial and finance roles in Mainstream for its global operations including Ireland and Northern Europe, Africa, LatAm and AisiaPAC.
Since early 2024 Lesley has been working with Volnay’s investment interests to advance a range of decarbonisation initiatives for the energy system and other sectors. With Eddie’s co-author Kevin O’Sullivan and team of expert contributors, she recently published the extensively updated posthumous second edition to Eddie’s book Supergrid Super Solution: A Handbook for Energy Independence and a Europe Free from Fossil Fuels.
Lesley holds an MBA from IE (Instituto de Empresa) Madrid, and a BA in Management Science and Information Systems Science from Trinity College Dublin.
