Brendan is Deputy Chairman of AIB Group plc, where he is Chairman of the Risk Committee and a member of the Audit, Nomination and Remuneration Committees. He is the Chairman of PEAL Capital Group Limited. He was previously a Non-Executive Director of Bradford & Bingley Limited and NRAM Limited, where he was the Chairman of the Audit & Risk Committee. He is also the former Executive Chairman of the Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son Limited, Bermuda. He is a former CEO of HSBC North America Holdings Inc responsible for HSBC’s banking and consumer finance operations in the US and Canada. He was also Group Managing Director for HSBC Holdings plc and a member of the HSBC Group Management Board. Brendan started his banking career with HSBC in 1979 and worked in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and North America.
Brendan is Chairman of the Audit Committee of Trinity College Dublin and Director of The Ireland Funds, Dublin. He was formerly a member of the Board of Ireland’s National Treasury Management Agency and was Chairman of the Audit and Remuneration Committees. He was also Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund. He was previously Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Trinity Business School. Brendan is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin.
